Jason is growing his reach every year. He has released five full-length CDs, and has radio airplay on FM commercial stations, college radio, and internet radio. Jason has opened for Candlebox, Jimmie Van Zant, Tantric, and Kentucky Head Hunters and shared the stage with Jackyl. He has performed at Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago, IL, The Slippery Noodle Inn in Indianapolis, IN, The Arcada Theater, Hard Rock Cafe in Memphis, Indianapolis, and St. Louis, and on the side stage at Klipsch Music Center. He now tours with his band all throughout the Midwest.

Jason spoke to students of Music Business at Elmhurst College, Chicago, IL, in 2018, on various topics involved in his daily work. He has also written an ebook, Musician’s Guide, for musicians looking for tips on starting their own career in music.
Jason Wells was born in a small town in Indiana. His early musical influences came to him through his father’s extensive record collection. As he listened every morning before school to tunes like Do You Feel Like We Do from Peter Frampton, he dreamed of one day becoming a guitarist and performing. He started to seriously learn guitar at age 12 and has primarily taught himself. He managed to graduate from a county school in Indiana, and played in a few garage bands along the way. Eventually he bought into the idea that playing music for a living was not realistic, so he settled down to a daily grind and started raising a family. In 2008, when the economy went bad and everyone was loosing their jobs, Jason didn’t escape the trouble. He was laid off work for a year and a half and turned that opportunity into his chance to start a music career. When Jason’s father passed away from cancer in 2011, Jason truly began to evaluate his own life. His dad’s passing was fuel for the fire to start living.
