Melanie McLaren with Special Guest Stacy Gabel

$15 ADV | $18 DOSMelanie MacLaren’s natural aptitude for nuanced delivery, wistful guitar playing, and her ability to write about life as if life were simply writing itself is everything you could want from a modern folk musician. Melanie’s lyrics have been described as “haunting yet humorous” and possessing a “sentimental cynicism” that “oozes with Gen-Z relatability.” This duality shines through in all aspects of her music— classic finger-style guitar rests on on beds of ethereal, ambient synthesizers, while distorted trad instruments like banjo, bouzouki and fiddle punctuate the compositions, demonstrating a keen artistic ability to combine a unique tongue-in-cheek sensibility with timeless folk style. She released her stunning debut EP “Kill My Time” this year independently to enthusiastic critical reception before gaining the attention of Tone Tree Distribution in Nashville. Within a few months of the release, she had signed with Tone Tree, landed several coveted playlist spots on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, and many more. This momentum combined with the quality of her song-craft has conjured the sentiment “We’re certain that it’s only a matter of time until Melanie is recognized as one of the most exciting artists to be writing and releasing music right now.” – Pillar Artist In October of 2022 Melanie released a collaborative folk EP of duets “Tadpole Emporium” with songwriter Lorkin O’Reilly. In November, Melanie and Lorkin successfully toured their project in the UK and Ireland. Fresh off of her first tour Melanie is now wrapping up her second solo EP entitled “Tourist” which will be released through Tone Tree in April 2023. With the first 3 singles already released and featured on multiple playlist placements across platforms (notably, her singles “Orion” and ‘Summer in Sweden’ on Spotify’s Best of 2022 Fresh Folk Finds), the EP is comes highly anticipated and will expand on the sound she established with her first project— one that reaches beyond convention and effortlessly weaves the threads of past and present.
Brotality

$15 ADV | $18 DOS With a name that evokes memories of bands like Megadeth, Anthrax, Overkill, and Pantera, New York’s Brotality strives to honor the glory days of thrash metal while injecting a modern twist of melody and progressive grooves. The guys in Brotality – brothers Bryce Maopolski (guitar and vocals) and Reece Maopolski (bass and vocals) along with friend John Haring (drums) – have created a band that unapologetically takes its sonic cues straight from the founding fathers of metal. With tight songwriting, muscular vocals, and crushing riffs in abundance, Brotality has created a dynamic force worthy of carrying forward the Heavy Metal moniker. They cite Mastodon and Megadeth as influences, and it won’t take long for anyone who listens to their music to be smacked in the face with an undeniable old-school sensibility. The Maopolski brothers started Brotality in 2016. In a few short years, Brotality has released two EP’s, multiple singles, and two full length albums. Their debut full length, “Worldwide Desolation”, has received countless rave reviews and landed on several “Best Albums of 2021” lists. Their sophomore album, “The Woods Will End You” won Reader’s Choice Album of the Year on Metal Epidemic, Top 7 Thrash Albums on Scream Blast Repeat along with Bryce being honored with a spot on their Best Guitarists of 2022 list and spots on many other Top Albums of 2022 lists. Their journey has given them opportunities to play well-known venues such as The Bitter End NYC, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (where they opened for Deep Purple and Judas Priest), Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia, several multi-day festivals and Stage West in Scranton, PA where they won the 570 Music Show’s Best Metal Band award for 2019. Brotality was also nominated for Best Metal Band at the 2021 and 2022 Steamtown Music Awards and Best Metal Band 2021 and 2022 for the Central PA Music Hall of Fame Awards. In the Spring of 2020, Brotality was elated to announce that they signed with Rottweiler Records. An ambitious 2022 schedule saw the band embarking on an expansive six week national summer tour. In April of 2023 they will be headed to Mexico to play Exodo Fest. Brotality has had several singles hit the Loud charts. Foxhole made it to #2, Salting The Wound #5 and Prisoners Of The Abyss debuted in the top 25. A slew of new singles have been released preceding their sophomore full length which released in early June 2022. Nosedive was the first to drop on 12/3/21 and charted at #6 on the Loud charts. Frost Empire and An Evil Presence recently released on 1/21/22 and 3/18/22. For continuous updates please check out the social media links below.

Hailing from Central Pennsylvania, Solar Federation performs the music of Rush with passion and precision, tuning into all the fine details die-hard fans analyze with every spin of an album. Formed in 2014, the band spent an entire year honing its initial set list and rehearsing what is often called the most complex catalog of songs in rock music. After only a handful of live performances, the band established itself as one of the premier Rush tributes on the East Coast, garnering praise from fans for its accurate interpretation of the material, meticulous attention to detail, and vocalist Julie Schreiber’s passionate delivery of Rush’s dynamic melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. Over the last eight years, Solar Federation has become known as a faithful tribute to the music of Rush and has earned respect among the vast community of Rush fans around the globe. Following the death of Rush’s legendary drummer Neil Peart, Solar Federation was invited to perform at A Night for Neil, a memorial tribute concert organized by Peart’s family and the nonprofit organization, Overtime Angels. The concert was held in Peart’s hometown of St. Catharines, Ontario, at the Meridian Center on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Solar Federation was the only Rush tribute band from the United States invited to perform. The band headlined the event with an hour-long closing set that brought down the house. Also, the bands version of the epic track “The Necromancer” was selected for inclusion on the Neil Peart tribute album, Songs for Neil: Volume 3, released September 12, 2022 on what would have been his 70th birthday. The album’s artwork was designed by longtime Rush collaborator and album cover artist, Hugh Syme. Proceeds of album sales benefit Cancer Support Scotland (UK) and Glioblastoma Foundation Neil Peart research Award (USA). Locally, Solar Federation was voted “Best Tribute Band” at the 3rd annual Central PA Music Awards held at Hershey Theatre on March 24, 2022. The band has been nominated once again for this award in 2022. “You can’t fake it with this band,” said Ffej Herb, Solar Federation’s drummer. “Rush fans are incredibly loyal and know this music inside and out.” Rush is widely recognized for its legions of devoted fans from all corners of the world. “I was floored to learn that people travel from all over the Mid-Atlantic region to attend our shows,” said Herb. “To me, that not only speaks volumes about the loyalty of Rush fans, but it’s also a testament to the quality of our band.” Solar Federation: Mike Bitts – bass, keyboards Ffej Herb – drums, cymbals, percussion Julie Schreiber – lead vocals Eric Wirsing – guitar, backing vocals
