The new psychedelic psuedo jazz blues rock jam project featuring local musicians Christian Menses on bass, Steve Truglio on drums, and Lenny Kaye on guitar.
Bellhead- Chicago’s dark rock bass duo has been building a reputation for writing catchy dark danceable songs and playing high impact, entertaining shows. With influences of post-punk, goth, and industrial, the band consists of High Bass / Vocalist Ivan Russia partnered with Low Bass / Vocalist Karen Righeimer. In just a few short years, Bellhead has become a fan favorite with multiple recordings, remixes by industrial industry classics such as Stabbing Westward, and multiple US tours averaging over 30 shows a year. They have provided tour support for international acts including Stabbing Westward, Clan of Xymox, Then Comes Silence, The Bellwether Syndicate, Night Club, China Crisis, Voltaire, Christian Death, Gene Loves Jezebel and Powerman5000, and joined festival lineups that include Dark City Fest, Para-Rock Convention, Thrashnetic, and the Illinois State Fair. The music video for ‘Bad Taste’ has been nominated for multiple film awards including Best Music Video at the Indie Gathering Film Festival and Best Director Music Video for the NY Film and Cinematography Awards.

The band works with production team audio engineer Neil Strauch (production / technical for Iron and Wine, Counting Crows, Owls) and mastering Carl Saff (production/ technical for Acid Mothers, Temple, Smoking Popes, Red Fang, Guided by Voices, etc), and management team David Schock (Wtii records).

BELLHEAD’s debut release ‘Unicorn Bones’ set them apart from other acts by crossing over fan bases and genres from the post-punk, gothic, industrial, alternative and metal scenes. Since their inception, BELLHEAD has toured with a number of national and international bands, released 3 EPs, been featured on a number of compilations, created high-profile remixes (Pig, Sk8nigs), and has been featured in mainstream media outlets as Post-Punk.com, The Deli Magazine’s featured Band of the Month, Divide and Conquer, Bass Magazine, Whitelight/Whiteheat, Breathing the Core, Chicago Music Guide, and Music Eternal’s Band of the Month.

With relentless determination and a growing fanbase, BELLHEAD have been touring non-stop for the past three years. BELLHEAD’s live performances are known for their high energy, crowd participation, and infectious hooks, while leaving the audience craving more.
